Coming of Age Day , 成人の日

Hello lovely readers,

Sorry this post is late. Better late then Never >.^

Today I will post about the Coming of age Ceremony (成人の日 Seijin no Hi )  that was on January, 14, 2013 also later about the snow . Basically, Coming of age Ceremony is a Celebration for Japanese residences ( I believe something like residence? since I am not Japanese but I was invited possibly since I am married... ) Anyways, it is for Celebrating `coming of age` turning Twenty Years old, becoming an adult in Japan. In Japan you must be 20 to drink and as my Husband has told me when you are twenty in Japan it is when your considered an adult. It was snowing when I went to the Ceremony and many girls wore Kimono to Celebrate. They plan it by where you live, I live in Yokohama so I went to the designated place for Yokohama residences, as to someone living in Tokyo would go to the one in Tokyo. Thus, I went alone ~ so I didn't wear a Kimono. Everyone went to a big auditorium and sat (picture below) so many girls were wearing white fur collars on there shoulder as you can see. to be honest the ceremony.. to put it nicely it was a bit boring many girls just talked (feel bad for speakers ><) but it was nice to see it and have the experience. Most of all I enjoyed watching all the beautiful girls in Kimonos. so cute >< ( I should have tried to take pictures of them)

sorry about the quality (iphone picture ><)
many people!

going back to the train station
trains stopped because of the snow .. snow and trains not a fun mix
who doesn't make a snow man in the snow ? (;
Japanese snowmen have two balls, American has three ><
ice that built up on my patio
I bought a purikura book on this day at Loft ^^

The snow was so heavy that day, at night I had a snowball fight with my husband and www the snowballs kinda hurt because they are so heavy from all the water ~ I call it slushy snow o . o that is why Japanese carry umbrellas in the snow. Imagine raining slushy >< you would get drenched without an umbrella. Sorry I did not get more pictures ~ it was very cold that day ! By the way, if you are in Tokyo when it is snowing o . o try to avoid the trains they are a bit crazy during snow.

Thanks for reading! Hope you enjoy.

♥ Valentines ♥ + Val.chocolate tutorial (how to)

As you all Know valentines is very near.

(Scroll down for how to make Valentines Chocolates yourself!)

Since, My husband make a dentist appointment for Valentines!.. We decided to celebrate today.
(we will go straight to dentist after his work ~ and I have four cavities from when i was a foolish teenager): Anyway its ironic right? Its like going to the dentist on Halloween, who does that?? www

back to topic, I decided to make a sponge cake with strawberries in it and choco whip outside ♥ somehow I kept on decorating it.. maybe not my best decorated cake but it was very tasty and I believe it turned out nicely.

 so that was my cake.
I got the candy hearts from my mom in the mail honestly I do not think they sell them in japan if they do its rare because my husband has never ate them before...

Second, I decided to make Chocolates because in Japan on valentines girls make chocolates for guys and on white day men usually will return chocolate to them. Thus, my husband agreed to return chocolates to me if I give him some. (chocolates are not so hard to make actually)

How to make special chocolate?;

 Supplies;
`get molds or anything that you can make a nice cute chocolate shape out of.
`get sprinkles or whatever you want to put in the chocolate
`get chocolate whatever kind you want in it

Steps;
1. boil water
2. snap chocolate into pieces in a zip-lock bag or something you can squish it out of
(I do not suggest mixing types of chocolate in the bags)
3. get a bowl and put the boiled water in it
4. put the bag/baggies of chocolate into the bowl and wait for chocolate to melt
5. put sprinkles or anything you want in the molds (before putting melted chocolate!)
6. cut just a small tip off the bag with the melted chocolate and squish chocolate you want in the molds (you can use one kind then another and make it multiple kinds)
7. put in the fridge for about 45 minutes, wait for it to harden
8. pop chocolates out of the molds

And then your done !!
you can look online for directions as well if you can`t understand mine, but they turned out very tasty and pretty  ♥ (sorry I did not take photos of every step... baking and cooking all day so it was a bit messy^^' )

Happy Valentines Everyone!! Hope you Enjoy!!

Eye Bow remake tutorial; Express Yourself

I bought some clip eye bows but the color is a bit bright for me so I put glitter on it to make it appear more girly and pretty. ( I put it on the white part of the eye as well for an extra sparkly effect) Simple thing you can use any color of type you want;
(I am no glitter expert just try and use one that will stay~ you can experiment if you like)

Then I put some jewels on it just to make it a little more girly and cute. (I used super glue you can use any strong glue you like, be careful) You can put any jewels or things you want on your bow, many or few or even none at all... it is your style;

I feel pleased with this for now!
(Also if you plan to get them wet you should try and put shalack on it or it may get sticky when raining)
Originally I wanted to use pearls but~ I ran out so I'm sorry if its a bit simple ヽ(;▽;)ノ
That is all, Just a quick fun idea ☆〜(ゝ。∂)
If you try it let me know, Link me your photos!
I would love to see!
Thank you for reading!!
